This 18 inch mandala on mdf board weaves the goldfields’ red earth, sacred geometry, and folk art. Against a black backdrop, vibrant gold and earthy tones evoke regal opulence and sun-kissed landscapes. Plaster embellishments and paint mediums add texture and depth. The central design draws inspiration from the Cathedral of Carlisle’s paneling, as depicted in “Illustrations of Geometric Tracery” by R W Billings, London, 1842. This is encircled by classical decorative scrolls and modern dot-painting patterns. Seamlessly blending historical influence with contemporary art, this piece crafts a narrative delicately connecting to the earth and its treasures.
